Personal Care Services for Medically Fragile Children
Help With the Everyday, All Day
Medically fragile children need more than medical procedures — they need hands-on help with the activities of daily life, often around the clock. Our personal care services provide trained caregivers in your home to support your child (and your family) with exactly that: the daily, essential, human side of care.
What Personal Care Includes
Our caregivers assist with:
Care hours are built around your child's approved plan of care — scheduled when your family actually needs the help, including evenings, overnights, and weekends.
A Parent Can Be the Paid Caregiver
Here's what many families don't realize: through GAPP's Family Caregiver Option, an eligible parent can be hired, trained, and paid to provide their child's personal care hours. No nursing license required — we provide the training, handle payroll and Medicaid billing, and support you throughout. Get paid to care for your child.
Personal Care + Skilled Nursing, One Team
Most of our families use both services together: licensed nurses handle the medical tasks (tube feeds, trach/vent care, medications, seizure monitoring) while caregivers — sometimes a paid parent — cover personal care hours. One agency, one coordinated plan, no gaps.
Covered at No Cost to Your Family
For eligible children, personal care hours are covered through GAPP and Georgia Medicaid. We verify eligibility, assemble the paperwork, and bill Medicaid directly — your family pays nothing for covered services. Learn about GAPP.
